STERIS® SYSTEM 1E® Liquid Chemical Sterilant Processing System Update

Introduction:

This online training is for equipment technicians who have previously trained on the STERIS® SYSTEM 1® Sterile Processing System and are authorized by their facility to service the SYSTEM 1E® Liquid Chemical Sterilant Processing System. This training covers only the features of the SYSTEM 1E® Liquid Chemical Sterilant Processing System that are different from the SYSTEM 1® Sterile Processing System. With the purchase of this course, you have up to five attempts or six months to complete the training (whichever comes first).

Course Goal:

This course will update the student previously trained on the SYSTEM1® Sterile Processing System on the features the SYSTEM 1E® Liquid Chemical Sterilant Processing System that are different from its predecessor. The student will learn how to put the equipment in a safe state. The student also will learn about the changes to the cycles and tests, the purpose and function of the new components, and which components must be checked according to the Preventive Maintenance Schedule.

Course Outcomes:

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:

  • describe the safety precautions to be taken when operating and servicing the SYSTEM 1E® Liquid Chemical Sterilant Processing System.
  • describe how to put the SYSTEM 1E® Liquid Chemical Sterilant Processing System into a safe state.
  • describe the purpose and function of the pressure regulator valve PR2 and identify the seal and system pressures.
  • describe the purpose and function of check valve CK11 and the frequency to replace it.
  • describe the purpose of the Max Pure Filter and the frequency to replace it.
  • identify the components of the UV Light System and describe their purpose and function.
  • identify the four Preventive Maintenance task to perform on the UV Light System
  • identify the number of exposure cycles.
  • identify the number of rinses.
  • describe the purpose of the pre-filter.
  • describe the purpose of the Water Quality test by identifying the water quality requirements.
  • describe the water pressure range requirement.
